Department of Hungarian Literary Studies

Since 1872, the university-level teaching of Hungarian language and literature in Transylvania has been the charge of the departments of the university of Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár). The institutional framework and surrounding circumstances have in this time undergone many changes. The present teaching stuff is the successor and student of four-five generations of savants and professors. Thanks to their scientific results they are acknowledged not only on national level or in Hungary, but also in the international professional sphere.
